Points make Prizes
The Mad Bastard Rally is not just about completing the route within your allotted class time. Oh no, if you want to have a good crack at winning the KYMCO Vitality 50 then you're going to have to collect as many "mad" points along the way as you can.
These points are awarded for various acts of madness, both set by us and created by yourself for being an imaginative (mad) bastard. For example, in 2005 we awarded points for "getting naked on the ferry". The results ranged from a picture of a picture from a skin mag, to some participants getting totally naked themselves. We also awarded points for costume worn, the best of the 2005 event being a clown's outfit!
Grand Prize – this goes to the participant who has completed the route within the allotted time, and who has accumulated the most mad points. For the 2007 MBS Rally we have a KYMCO Vitality 50 scooter valued at $2,299.00!
Other prizes – we're working on getting a host of other prizes to award to people who have done well in various categories. More information will be announced when we've figured this all out.
Classes
In order to keep the rally open to all scooters but also to keep a level playing field, we've set up a series of classes by engine capacity. The smaller the scoot, the longer the allotted time to complete the course and more mad points you'll get, but then it's a lot harder to boot ...
| class | scooter cc | time to complete |
| Day Release | 200 cc or greater | 15 hours |
| Therapy Required | 100 cc of less than 200 cc | 18 hours |
| Heavily Medicated | 50 cc or less than 100 cc | 20 hours |
| Straight Jacket | less than 50 cc | 24 hours |
The Route
The start location and finish will be Belleville, Ontario and the ride will head north and then loop east through Ottawa. From here it drops down to Morrisburg and then back to Belleville where a cold beer awaits.
We will be providing you with detailed maps, and the check-in locations, however be sure to bring along a map of Ontario.
Check out the Route section for a more details.

What you'll need
Good question. We'll be supplying a list of suggested stuff in email format to Rally goers, but we do require that you have a digital camera with you as some of the possible mad points will require photographic proof!
